John Wick: Ballerina

Hey guys! How's it going? I'm doing alright. I'm surviving the heat but also trying to enjoy it. I may have hit the pool once or twice, but I have a feeling it's going to be a hot summer since it's only the middle of June. Anyways, I'm not done with the spooky films yet, but this one is a bit more action packed so without further ado, Movie of the Night: John Wick: Ballerina!

From the world of John Wick, Eve Macarro (played by Ana de Armas) is out on the hunt for the people who killed her father and she's out for blood. Having been raised by the Ruska Roma, Eve does everything and anything to learn to hunt and kill all the while being a ballerina. After graduating the program, Eve not only goes out for a contract but comes across the Cult that killed her father which not only leads her to finding out where the cult lives but also a family that may be a bit more twisted than her own.

I may have found my new favorite action series. I normally put on something on the background while working, but if I had this on the background, I would not be able to work because I would be sitting on the couch just absorbing this movie. I actually wish I can watch this movie again, because it was that good. Don't get me wrong. I'm all for John Wick and his amazing assassin moves, but having a female fight is something else especially when she's told to fight like a girl. From the get go, you can tell Eve won't be able to take down the big bad men Mr. Wick can with a simple punch, but with a proper kick to the groin, they would surely go down just the same. The little input with John Wick was actually pretty interesting, because I was wondering how they were going to do that but it takes place as he was trying to find a safe place at the Casablanca. But when he comes back again during the end of the movie (which by the way, amazing fight with flame throwers) it almost made me wonder where that fell during his timeline. Of course, they had to include the Continental where Eve met Mr. Daniel Pine who was played by Norman Reedus. Did I mention I was a little thrown off with the fact that he was in the movie? I may be a little confused on how many spinoffs there are for the Walking Dead, but how did he have the time to be part of this movie? I'm pretty sure he did have the time, but it was interesting watching him go assassin mode as well which was a little bit different than the rest of the movie since Eve is a bit more petite and sharp with her moves even while wearing a dress. Anyways, I'm glad I got to watch this movie in the theater. You wouldn't be able to be as immersive if you did watch it at home unless you have the movie theater vibe, but I would definitely recommend watching this one on the big screen.

Rated R for strong violence and language
