The Devil Wears Prada

Hey guys! How's it going? Happy First Day of Fall! Of course it still feels like it's summer over here, but the Fall festivities have already started for me. The decorations are up. I've been baking and I've started wearing pants again so it definitely feels like Fall to me haha. That also means more movies to watch and enjoy! So without further ado, Movie of the Night: The Devil Wears Prada!

Journalist Andy Sachs (played by Anne Hathaway) is doing her best trying to get a job she wants in the Big Apple, however when she applies for a prestigious fashion company, she wasn't expecting to get the job. Let alone work for one of the biggest fashion icons, Miranda Priestly (played by Meryl Streep). Andy does her best to dig her heels in but when the job is changing her in ways she doesn't realize, she may be in a little too deep causing her to not only cost her relationship but her dreams.

I've been wanting to watch this movie ever since I saw it come out on Hulu, so when I did decide to sit down and watch it, I was not disappointed. But then again, Anne Hathaway is one of my favorite actresses and Meryl Streep never disappoints, but I was not expecting an antagonist like Miranda. So dramatic. So chic. And not so nice to her employees. Not only does it make sense now on why I keep seeing the GIF every time a coworker posts it in the group chat when Miranda is taking off her sunglasses, but on why the fashion world is as competitive as the corporate world. The thing is with the fashion world, I didn't realize how up to date you have to be and watching this movie made me feel a little old fashioned but then again this movie came out in 2006. Speaking of which, who has heard about them making a sequel coming next year? I know. I don't know about you, but I'm kind of excited after finally watching this haha. But for my readers who love a good fashionista, I'm glad I got to watch this movie. I'm kind of bummed I didn't get to watch it on the big screen, but who knows? I might watch the sequel on the big screen.

*Rated PG-13 for some sensuality

My Rating: A
