Until Dawn

Hey guys! How's it going? Happy September! I thought I was busy in August but this month may be even busier with my birthday and all the festivities I plan to enjoy. But I will do my best to stay consistent since I did kind of slacked haha. Anyways, Movie of the Night: Until Dawn!

How would you feel if you had to repeat the same night over and over again? How would you feel if you were constantly killed over and over again? That's what happens to Clover (played by Ella Rubin) and her friends who are trying to follow the footsteps of Clover's missing sister, Melanie (played by Maia Mitchell). It wasn't until they stopped at an abandoned visitor center where things take a turn for the worse. Whether it's from water that makes you explode or a murderer just straight up killing you, they have to stay alive by the thirteenth night, otherwise they might suffer a fate worse than death.

I never played the game, so I had to do my fair share of research and after finding out that the movie was nothing like the game, I was kind of disappointed but at the same time, it's not like there wasn't a lick of resemblance to the game. Granted it happens at the very end of the movie where we see the cabin in the snow, but as someone who didn't know the story or the characters, I was captivated. I'm also pretty sure whoever played the game was disappointed when they watched this movie, but it was fascinating from the first night to the last night where everyone is basically almost a wendigo. The horror aspect of it is pretty good. The jump scares made my heart race and the thrill of who's going to die next was even more interesting. I'm not going to lie: I did watch a playthrough from Markiplier and now I really want to play AND it's on PlayStation which is even better haha. I kind of wish I watched this on the big screen, because I'm pretty sure it would have been more awesome just seeing the gore and craziness on the big screen. But you can find this movie on Netflix so if you're in the spooky mood, give it a try.

*Rated R for language, gore, and violence

My Rating: B
