Hey guys! How's it going? I'm doing alright. Just dealing the holidays one at a time. Friends and family have been coming to town so I've been a little busy, but I still make time for movies. Especially ones that I haven't seen. This time around it's Bodies Bodies Bodies!
What would you do if you were stuck in a mansion with five other people? For Alice (played by Rachel Sennott), Sophie (played by Amandla Stenberg), Emma (played by Chase Sui Wonders), Bee (Maria Bakalova), Pete (played by Pete Davidson), and Greg (played by Lee Pace) they do their own thing whether it's drugs, playing a game, or getting killed. What turned out to be a private getaway turns south real quick when a hurricane sweeps the area and the five 20-something-year-olds have to defend themselves whether it's from the electricity going out or a killer on the loose.
I don't know how to write this review without not only cracking up but not sounding like a Millenial, because not only did this movie just define cringe, it made me lose a few brain cells. I don't even know where to begin with this movie. How about the fact that it could have turned into so many different ways but what turns out to be an accident just makes everyone freak out and turn on each other in the most escalated way possible. And I mean escalated. The way this movie started was like a roller coaster just constantly going up and up and there was no going down. From the ladies being snarky and passive aggressive to each other to the guys throwing punches. I was wondering if there was a hallucination part of this movie, but there's not. Oh and don't get me started on the deaths on each and every one of them, because not only are they all panicking, they were all on some sort of drug which made this horror movie into a slight comedic film. I don't mean to sound satirical, but oh my goodness. Because of the the people's insecurities or even vulnerabilities, it just screams Generation Z with their buzz words and irrelevant backhanded comments. For the most part, it's between the girls because the guys die first! Which makes it even more annoying. This movie is the epitome of what it's like to not have common sense, but that's probably why I ended up just hate watching it until the end haha. I have been trying out new streaming services, so this bad boy is on Prime Video. I do have to emphasize BAD, because it is a B-rated movie. So if you get over the fact that there are a few moments when you want to just scream at the characters, feel free to check it out. I don't know if I would have watched this one in the theaters though, so it's a good thing I saved my money.
*Rated R for language, drug usage, sexual references, bloody images and violence
