Hey guys! How's it going? I've been a bit busy, but I've still been watching movies. I know I haven't been posting as much but at least I'm consistent. Anyways, Movie of the Night: Pitch Perfect 2!
It's been three years since the Barden Bellas won their first national competition, so theyre famous. So famous they perform for the president of the United States, however it turns disastrous for them when Fat Amy (played by Rebel Wilson) made a fool of herself during the performance. Because of it, the Bellas are suspended... unless they can redeem themselves at the Acapella World Championship. With Das Sound Machine as the reigning champions, the Bellas are in it for a tough competition. It also doesn't help that Beca (played by Anna Kendrick) is hiding her job from them to launch her DJ career. It's going to take more teamwork for the Bellas to win.
For some weird reason, I prolonged watching the sequel to Pitch Perfect. I don't know if it's because of the constant covers or the fact that it's acapella covers. I don't mind them. Like I mentioned in the first movie's review, covers just get kind of old however this movie had an interesting twist when it came to the music. I am always open to originals. Did I mention these movies heavily remind me of Glee? Yeah. I was that devoted that I ended up watching the original songs haha. But anyways, I thought how it was odd that Beca was the only one who was excited for graduating, because viewers don't even see the girls go to class so I was wondering how they were going to incorporate that in the movie. It definitely reminds me of my college graduation. Can I also mention Das Sound Machine brought back some old songs I have not heard in forever? The last time I heard Daft Punk was years ago, but it makes sense since the movie came out in 2015. Maybe it's a good thing I didn't watch these movies on the big screen. Otherwise, I would have been singing.
*Rated PG-13 for innuendos and language
My Rating: C
