Freakier Friday

Hey guys! How's it going? Happy February! Was it me or did January seem a bit slow? Maybe because I had quite a bit happen and the times I did have to kick back seemed necessary. It's a good thing I'm going to take some time for myself this month. Anyways, Movie of the Night: Freakier Friday!

The Coleman's are back, and this time around, Anna (played by Lindsay Lohan) is older and has a child of her own, Harper (played by Julia Butters). As a single mom, Anna needs all the help and has the help from her own mother, Tess (played by Jamie Lee Curtis) except things change when Anna meets Eric (played by Manny Jacinto) and has a daughter of his own. It turns out the girls do not like each other at all though, and because Anna and Eric are in love, combining their two families seem to be a little bit harder than normal. Will Harper and Lily (played by Sophia Hammons) put aside their differences or do they have to go through something like the Anna and Tess to see what it's like on the other side?

Can I just say that I am proud of Lindsay Lohan and her redemption of coming back all happy and clean? It's just crazy how long ago the first one came out, and this one kind of sparked the old nostalgic feeling of the 2000s. But maybe that's just me feeling a little old, because this movie made me feel old. I'm not saying Generation Z does that, but some of the things Harper and Lily say just made me crack up. Things like talking about transitional lenses or how everything feels dry haha. I mean she's not wrong. But I feel like this sequel did the original movie justice with it's high energy and the fact that it was doing almost the same exact thing except there's four people involved. I thought involving Tess was interesting since she got more involved with Anna's life. I thought Anna would have been a bit more on her own but I guess it doesn't hurt to ask for help every once in a while especially when you have a lot of things you have to do especially like be a manager for a celebrity. I'm kind of bummed out I didn't get to watch this one on the big screen but I still managed to catch it on Disney+ while it's still on there. Anyways, check it out if you want a good time laughing and feeling old.

*Rated PG for rude humor, language, suggestive references and thematic elements
