Hey guys! How's it going? I'm doing alright. My allergies have been kicking my butt though, so I have been trying to take it easy but it's a little hard when you have plans with friends and family haha so if you have spent time with me, I swear I'm not sick. My allergies have just been a little bit worse this year for some weird reason. So as part of taking it easy, I decided to watch some action movies and this is one of them so Movie of the Night: Taken 2!
Bryan Mills (played by Liam Neeson) is back at it again except this time instead of his daughter getting taken it's his ex-wife who seems to still have some feelings for Bryan as well as vice versa. But Bryan can't let his emotions get too much in the way, because he was taken with her in Istanbul. She just can't get out as easily as he can since he is ex-CIA. Not to mention with the help of their daughter, Kim (played by Maggie Grace) they both get Lenore (played by Famke Janssen) back to safety and back to the states just in time for Kim to get her driver's license.
Can I just start off this review with how I don't have a review for this movie already? I have the third one twice and I rated the first one months ago, so I'm a little confused but oh well. Anyways, there's something about an action movie when you're not feeling well. Especially when it's an old 2000's one, because for some weird reason, the viewer just seems like they are a part of the movie with how the camera seems to shake every time it's following the main character when he's running around. I mean Liam Neeson is no Tom Cruise in any of the Mission Impossible movies but it's still entertaining to be so immersed in the movie. But as for Lenore getting taken, I kind of saw it coming with how close they are to each other and it's not just because of Kim. I'm also kind of refreshing my memory what happens in these movies, because I'm sure as you all know Kim doesn't get taken three times (otherwise that plot will be redundant like no other) but it's just intriguing how the bad guys seem to have some sort of revenge story and have a tie to the previous movie some way some how. I kind of wish I watched this one on the big screen, because it would have been even more immersive, but I did find this movie on Hulu so if you are looking for some action, check it out!
*Rated PG-13 for violence, action and some sensuality
My Rating: B
