Hey guys! How's it going? I've been doing alright. Just a little busy with life and transitioning through things like a new job and whatnot, but I'm still hanging in there. It's about to be the busy months, so I'm trying to make sure there isn't too much space in between movie reviews. So without further ado, Movie of the Night: Obsession!
Bear (played by Michael Johnston) is a hopeless romantic, and he's in love with one of his good friends, Nikki Freeman (played by Inde Navarrette). So what does he do in order to get Nikki's love? He breaks a "One Wish Willow" that grants his wish and that's for Nikki to love him no matter what. The thing is he didn't realize the love he wished for was almost stifling yet sinister.
This movie is the epitome of "Be careful of what you wish for." What Bear wanted seems like a child's wish but the way this movie was portrayed was not only spooky but almost triggering to me since I endured a very codependent relationship years ago. It wasn't this creepy but still somewhat the same. Anyways, Inde Navarrette blew my mind away with her acting, because not only did she play an amazing role but the amount of craziness that happens in this movie is just baffling. From Nikki causing a scene in a restaurant to urinating and defecating in Bear's living room was just baffling. And don't get me started on the cat. I knew the moment the movie started with Bear losing his cat, something was going to involve it one way or another. So even though the movie did cause me a little trauma from my very toxic relationship, it was still very good. It captivated me that I still wanted to watch despite the arguments and creepy sensations Nikki was causing between her and Bear. Oh and their friends? You'd think they would have helped a little bit more, but I guess that's what it's like looking from the outside in but they didn't deserve what they got. I wasn't expecting to like this movie as much as I did despite it being a Blockbuster type of movie but I'm glad I got to see it on the big screen and cower in my popcorn.

Appreciate you wanting to share your thoughts but some of these reviews are just plain hard to read because of the grammar and phrasing of the sentences. And these reviews are very surface level with little nuance in perspective. Not trying to discourage you but might be worth having people proofread. Maybe think a little deeper about the movies and offer a more detailed and introspective opinion especially with a movie like this.
