Hey guys! How's it going? I know. I know. I have been slacking. And the consistency has been a little off due to life being really busy. But I swear more movie reviews are coming along and probably on Mondays now since life has been busy. So without further ado, Movie of the Night: Spider-Man: Brand New Day!
Peter Parker (played by Tom Holland) is back at it again except this time he's alone and he's protecting the city of New York without his friends since they don't remember him. That's right. Spider-Man has been busy saving people's lives except his own, and because of this, his powers take a turn on him when his arachnid hormones go a little haywire and even cause him to not use his web shooters and actually have web come out of his skin. It doesn't help when a new villain is in town and is trying to find her sister, so when Spider-Man goes against this foe, her telepathic and telekinetic powers has him looking for help in different ways.
I feel like I have been out of the loop from Marvel for a minute. I have been slacking on not only the movies but also the TV shows that have been coming out on Disney +, and there's just so much to "catch up" on because not only do they somewhat tie into the movies but they introduce people I have never even heard of. Like until I watched this movie I thought the Punisher was some other franchise haha. I didn't realize he was friends with Spider-Man or even knew him. So to see them working together I couldn't help but question who the heck he was and it may be a spoiler but how the heck did he make that shot a kilometer away from Spider-Man and Jean Gray (played by Sadie Sink)? Just how? Anyways, this movie though blew my mind away with the cinematography. Like how the camera spun around following Spider-Man around the city was amazing, and I don't remember it being this good with the other Spider-Mans. Not to mention, the story telling with Peter and MJ. Oh my goodness. I can't tell you which part of the story I was more interested in: Jean Gray, MJ or Spider-Man going dark side. Can I also mention the fact that when they brought Yolanda (played by Florence Pugh) back from Thunderbolts made me happy? There are just so many parts to this story that makes me want to actually watch the first couple Spider-Mans featuring Tom Holland. I know I did reviews with the other two actors but again, I have been slacking. So if you haven't watched this one on the big screen, I highly recommend it, because you're not going to want to miss any of it. Just be careful because if you blink you might miss something.
